Previously called Solo ATV, the company had pivoted from an autonomous focus to an electrification focus. Due to this pivot and legal challenges with the Solo name, the team engaged us to rename the company and to establish a supporting identity.
We looked for a name that evoked technological strength and reverence for nature without sounding intimidating, technical or—worst of all—boring. On top of that, the name had to be unique and legally trademarkable against the 1.89 million (!) trucking company names currently in the US.
Both honest and ambitious, Terraline wasn’t just a memorable name, it was also a tidy creative brief for the entire design system.
