The Role

Studio Mococo is looking for a strategic, innovative and confident Art Director to oversee, articulate and direct all components for the visual expression of our projects; suggesting the best elements to use based on design experience and client preferences, and assisting with the review and approval of deliverables such as copy, designs or photography. This person will help to both determine and execute the best representation of ideas and concepts, and can offer assistance when developing project timelines and budgets, as they relate to the project’s artistic needs.

The Art Director will continuously collaborate with the strategic team, the project management teams, and other Mococo creatives to ensure project deliverables, as a whole, aligns with the client’s vision and expectation. They strive to stay up to date on the latest  trends and other cultural developments, providing insight and inspiration to other art and design team members.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Directing the visual functionalities of concept development, collaborating with team members, meeting client expectations and deadlines, and setting the appropriate goals and objectives
  • Able to conceptualize and execute solutions for clear visual style and imaging, including media such as photography, art, or film
  • Constantly investing in what’s new in the world - staying on top of relevant trends and providing proactive insights and ideas across a variety of fields 
  • Collaborate with a variety of Mococo project teams, including the Strategy, Account Management, and Design, to align client expectations and deliverables
  • Develop project budgets, timelines and deadlines, communicating to clients general expectations or adjustments as needed
  • Review work produced by the creative team, ensuring it follows the client-approved concept(s)

Skills & Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of art and design experience
  • Experience working in creative agencies or similar, a plus
  • Strong portfolio of professional design work
  • Expert-level proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Premier
  • Proven experience helping to guide and inspire other team members throughout the project process
  • Strong, creative written and verbal communication skills both internally with the team and externally with clients
  • Able to successfully work both autonomously and collaboratively with a team
  • Experience working with diverse teams across a variety of cultures and with varying ideas and perspectives
  • Excellent management, time-management, and problem-solving skills
  • An overall drive to make clients happy!
